Allowing Yourself to Feel

In our current society, most of us have been brought up or influenced to oftentimes ignore how we're feeling. Or, we attempt to bury it or push it out.
With 2020 unfolding the way that it has, it has been full of emotions. I have found myself, every 2-3 weeks, having a couple days where I feel completely emotionally overwhelmed and impacted by all that's going on around us.
Yesterday I was driving and I pulled over. I've been feeling very heavy for the last couple of days, so I just sat and started talking to God/The Universe (they are the same). I said:
“Okay, I get it that I might not understand why I need to feel this way. I'll stop fighting it I sit with it. The way I'm feeling has to be for something."
As I look back at my life, there have been many times when I or someone I know, have felt heartache or pain - stemming from struggling to find purpose in what we're feeling.
Yet, why do we need to know everything?
Why do we need to will ourselves out of our feelings?
What if they serve a purpose?
What if this stuggle will bring new growth and change?
I know it's hard right now, I get it. What we all need to remember is that we're all there, together. Let's feel it and let's expose it. Let's welcome more BEING and less DOING. We don't always have to try to understand every moment of life - in that exact moment. In time, all things will reveal themselves.
